Esta’s eggs – cage free, no antibiotics, naturally raised and fed, humanely treated.
We are not a commercial egg farm, nor do we have any intentions of ever being one. Simply put, we have always had a small flock of laying hens here on the farm to supply our family, with the extras being sold for additional income.
Our hens are happy hens that lay awesome eggs. Esta’s eggs are mostly jumbo. The shells are hard and the yolks are orange. Esta’s hens are not caged and are given no drugs, hormones, antibiotics or animal by-products. They are fed only natural feed. Esta’s hens are treated more like farm “pets” than farm animals. That is, they are treated very well, and they provide us with eggs “better than they have to be”.
Think for one minute about the supermarket egg – where does it come from? Like nearly everything else sold at the supermarket, it comes from a factory sometimes 1,500 miles away raised by a large producer. Thousands and thousands of chickens are kept in cages and live under deplorable conditions.
There is an alternative: Esta’s farm fresh eggs differ significantly from the factory type – they vary in color and in size. Simply put, they are real eggs! They aren’t fed antibiotics. They aren’t kept in cramped cages. A product raised with this approach varies dramatically from the factory egg. Esta’s farm fresh eggs have a firmer, larger yolk. And the taste – let me tell you, these eggs are simply delicious!
